HorrorMyth v0.1 Demo to v0.2 Alpha Changelist


New Additions:

+ New Stage:

     STAGE 1: KFP Restaurant

+ New Characters:

+ Difficulties

     Each stage will have 3 difficulties to choose from (Normal, Hard, and Expert).

+ Name Entry

     When you start a new game, you'll be asked to enter your name so that your records will show your name next to them.

+ Auto Save

     Your games will be saved automatically from now on! All your records, stage clears, and game overs are saved!

+ Implemented a Main Menu that's accessible after entering your name.

+ Implemented a Tutorial to teach new players the basic mechanics. Accessible from the Main Menu.

+ Record Keeping

     This is for anyone interested in getting the fastest time possible. Each record is set depending on difficulty. In addition to best times, This also keeps track of how many times you've cleared a stage and how many game overs per stage per difficulty. Accessible from the Main Menu.

+ Extra's Menu

     This becomes accessible from the main menu after clearing the 1st stage. This offers a "Backstory" and "Cutscene Ending" viewer of any stages you've cleared. If also offers an "Explore Mode" which allows you to explore any stage you've cleared without any danger or flashlight.

Changes:

General:

- Moved "Options" from Title Menu to Main Menu

- Added "Continue" to Title Menu that's highlighted by default for quick access to your saved game.

- Updated the "Amelia Watson" character sprite.

- Updated the "Investigator" character sprite.

- Any and all things that can be interacted with are much more noticeable.

- Made the flashlight slightly brighter.

- The "Stage Cleared" screen will now display your time played and current record (if any) of the difficulty you played. If you've either set a new record or beaten your old record, you should see "NEW!!" as an indication. All Stage Clears will now take you back to the Main Menu instead of the Credits.

- After clearing a stage, the backstory and ending cutscene of cleared stage will no longer be viewed after playing the stage again. They can still be revisited from the "Extras" menu. I find that having both the backstory and ending cutscenes be viewed every single time you play, even after clearing it, to be redundant. This is to allow you to play and clear stages more quickly.

STAGE 2: Watson Detective Agency

- Backstory is reduced to 2 separate texts to make it look less like a big wall of text.

- Updated the "Backstory" and "Game Over" screens to reflect the updated "Investigator" character.

- Removed "Controls" tutorial. This isn't needed anymore now that there's a "Tutorial" option in the main menu.

- Separated "Lobby" into its own map to act as a safe area before playing the main map. Another reason for this was to fix a small exploit that was missed in the last version.

- Added a letter that can be interacted with in the Lobby next to the map. The letter shows you what you need to find and provides hints on what to be careful for.

- Improvements to map RNG.

- Improvements to "Amelia Watson" pathfinding.

- Updated the "ending" to a more proper ending.
